The potato cleaning and peeling machine is a key pre-treatment equipment in potato deep processing production lines (such as potato chips, mashed potatoes, potato chips, and other pre made vegetable processing). It integrates cleaning and peeling functions, efficiently treating the mud, dirt, and skin tissue of potatoes, while maximizing the preservation of potato meat quality and providing high-quality raw materials for subsequent processing. Its performance characteristics are as follows:

1、 Equipment structure and working principle

(1) Core structure composition

Feeding system: using inclined conveyor belts or hoppers for feeding, adjustable feeding speed (0.5-2 tons/hour), suitable for different production capacity requirements. The feed inlet is equipped with a grille to intercept large particles of impurities such as stones and metals, avoiding damage to the internal components of the equipment.

Cleaning and peeling chamber: The main body is a cylindrical or groove shaped chamber, equipped with high-density nylon brush rollers (diameter 50-80mm) or diamond grinding rollers inside. The brush hardness is moderate (Shore hardness 60-70 degrees), which can effectively remove the skin without excessive wear on the potato meat. Install high-pressure spray pipes (water pressure 2-3MPa) on the inner wall of the cavity, which work together with brush rollers to form a dual effect of "friction+flushing".

Transmission system: The brush roller is driven by a variable frequency motor to rotate (speed 300-600r/min), and multi roller synchronous operation is achieved through chain or gear transmission, ensuring that the potatoes roll evenly in the cavity without any dead corners contacting the brush and water flow.

Discharge and water circulation system: The bottom is equipped with an inclined screen conveyor belt, which automatically discharges the processed potatoes while separating sewage and impurities; The sewage can be recycled after being filtered by sedimentation tank and filter screen (with a water saving rate of 40%), reducing water resource consumption.

2、 Core performance advantages

(1) Efficient cleaning and peeling integration

Thoroughly cleaned: The friction generated by the rotation of the brush roller, combined with high-pressure spraying, can remove more than 98% of the sediment, soil, and pesticide residues on the surface of potatoes (with a pesticide residue degradation rate of ≥ 30%). For areas with bud eyes or indentations, brushes can penetrate deep into the gaps for cleaning, solving the problem of blind spots that are difficult to handle manually.

Accurate and controllable peeling: By adjusting the speed of the brush roller (the higher the speed, the greater the peeling strength) and the residence time of the potato in the cavity (10-30 seconds), precise control of the peeling thickness (0.3-1mm) can be achieved. For example, potatoes used for processing potato chips need to be lightly peeled (retaining some skin to enhance flavor), while potatoes used for processing mashed potatoes need to be deeply peeled (to ensure a delicate taste). Both equipment can meet the requirements, with a peeling rate of ≥ 95% and a meat loss rate of ≤ 5%.

(2) Flexible processing to ensure the quality of raw materials

Low damage rate: The nylon brush is made of soft and wear-resistant material, combined with the flexible rolling of potatoes in the cavity, to avoid potato damage caused by rigid collisions (damage rate ≤ 3%). For new potatoes with tender skin, further damage can be reduced by reducing the rotational speed (300-400r/min) to ensure the integrity of the raw materials for subsequent processing (such as maintaining the integrity of the potato strips during processing).

High uniformity: Multiple sets of brush rollers are arranged in a staggered manner, with potatoes in 360 ° contact without dead corners in the cavity, ensuring consistent cleaning and peeling effects for each potato (with a peeling thickness difference of ≤ 0.2mm for potatoes in the same batch), avoiding individual differences caused by manual processing, and providing standardized raw materials for subsequent cutting, steaming, and other processes.
